8x8 features click to dial built natively into the app, with no need to install any additional plugins or browser extns. Click to dial works on anything you can highlight on your PC including:
- Web pages
- Text documents
- PDFs
- Thick Clients like Sage
- Emails and email signatures
Configuring the shortcut
By default click to dial will run out of the box using a keyboard shortcut of CTRL-SHIFT-8. To customise the shortcut go into Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts and find the top option "highlight to dial"
Click the pencil to edit.
Enter a new shortcut to set.
Using Click to Dial
Highlight the number you want to dial and enter your shortcut. The app will scrape the number and clean up the formatting (where possible).
For example here, where the formatting will include too many numbers.
The call will be pushed to the 8x8 App in the background.
